Shenango Limestone will produce high quality, state approved limestone products used in the construction industry. The mine will be an underground operation, which will minimize the environmental impact to the surface. Limestone produced in the Shenango Township mine will be used to build roads, bridges, homes, and driveways in the region for many years to come.
Over the next year and a half, the construction of the mine and processing plant will create jobs for dozens of direct and indirect employees. Once up and running, Shenango Limestone will employ approximately twenty full time employees. Shenango Limestone is currently hiring qualified applicants in the New Castle area. Anyone interested in employment is encouraged to send your resume via this submittal form or mail to P.O. Box 217, North Lima, OH, 44452.
Once mined, the void left will be used as an underground storage facility, much like the Wampum Underground Commerce Center and Bradys Bend Underground Storage.
Shenango Limestone has hired RAR Engineering of New Castle to prepare the mine permit. RAR is currently gathering environmental information to submit to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
Vibra Tech, vibration experts in the mining industry, will conduct pre blast surveys for all residences within one half mile of the mining operation. Contact us for more information.
